In A Funk

I have sort of been in a funk lately. I haven’t been posting as much as I would like.

The reason for this is because I had a follow up visit with my doctor. He wants to put me on an ACE inhibitor for my heart. However, the radiologist that I work for said that I should have my kidneys checked out by a nephrologist first. He thinks that the ACE inhibitor could cause some damage if my kidneys are already messed up. And yes, there is reason to believe that my kidneys are messed up…

My fun with Nutrisystem is put on hold at the moment until my health gets better. I wish I could still do it, but the doctor wants me to worry about everything else first. He said that the way my thyroid is right now, I would only get frustrated anyway. There is no way to lose weight with how far off my numbers are at the moment.

Anyway, on a more positive note, I have been voraciously reading through the Stephanie Plum series. smile_teeth I just finished Plum Lovin’ yesterday. Now I need to get my hands on Lean Mean Thirteen. That is still in Hardback though. I hate buying hardback since they are so expensive and I read them so quickly. I will probably use one of my credits over at BOMC2.com. That used to be Zooba. It is a neat place if you have a few extra dollars a month. Basically you pay $9.95 a month and they ship you a hardcover book that is on your list. Its sort of like Netflix, except you don’t have to return the book. And if you are in a real hurry to get the book, you can choose the purchase now option. I like it since I can pretty much find most of the books that I would like to read there. Plus it isn’t expensive at all. I just checked and Lean Mean Thirteen just shipped on Friday. So hopefully it will get here soon and I can start reading it!!

At the moment, my SOE account is suspended. I didn’t have the money this paycheck to renew it. smile_sad In the mean time, I am keeping myself busy with City of Heroes. I might even check out Guild Wars to see what is going on over there.

Determination

So Friday night, I was extremely determined. I had gotten my chardok library update for my fabled a few days earlier. I had made a few attempts at Phrotis, but I was extremely tired at that point.

Friday night after raid, I figured that I would give it another shot. I don’t even want to think about the amount of attempts I made. I also don’t want to think about the amount I spent on mending. I think I may have bought the mender a new level 80 mount or two.

I had a dogged determination towards getting it. There were a few times that I had him down to a few percent. I know that you have to hit dominate at 1%. However, something would invariably happen that would cause me to wipe. Especially when he is spamming the elementals.

I ended up respecing my aa’s to how I used to have them before being in a raiding guild. They were set up so that I could off-tank since our real tank was pretty shitty. I went back to that and was able to keep pet & me alive long enough to complete it.

Now I am not looking forward to getting the epic updates. From what I understand, we are supposed to be doing VS on Monday. That sort of sucks since I need to complete PB before moving onto VS for my updates. Oh well. I guess I will catch it on the second time around.

I do have to say that the weapon really looks nice! I love the effect it has going of looking like it has lava flowing. Plus when the effect proc’s, it looks like I have fire raining down on my head.

I am so happy that I got the fabled. When I was back in Essayons, I basically had no hope that I would even get the fabled version. Now I actually have hope of getting the mythical!

internet down

So our internet was down most of the day.

Actually I have to admit that for some reason I slept until 2pm today. I didn’t go to bed really late. Heck I normally go to bed around 2am or 3am. Last night I went to sleep at 1am. So I guess you could say that I actually went to sleep early.

Well, when I woke up, I couldn’t log onto the internet. So I ended up just playing games offline. It sucked because I was really hoping to get online for a little bit earlier today. It didn’t finally come up until 7pm.

At least I can get online now.

So the first thing I did when I got online was play Kingdom of Loathing. If you love tongue in cheek humor then you will love this game. It is entirely text based. There are some stick figures to break up the text. However, you really have to read the text. It is completely hilarious. There is something there to find for all ages.

One adventure I had was with something (sorry can’t remember exactly) singing the Rainbow Connection (song by Kermit the Frog in one of the Muppet Movies) but it was done like Yoda. It was completely oddball.

It is completely free to play. It is a basic adventure game. You can choose from several classes to play: pastamancer, sauceror, seal clubber, turtle tamer, disco bandit, and accordion thief. Each class has different spells that they can learn from their respective guilds.

The Kingdom celebrates several holidays: The Feast of Boris, Yuletide, Festival of Jarlsberg, St. Sneaky Pete’s Day, Valentine’s day, Oyster Day, El Dia De Los Muertos Borrachos, Generic Summer Holiday, Dependence Day, Arrrrbor Day, Labór Day, and Halloween. It has its own calendar, so the holidays roll around much more often. In fact, The Feast of Boris is coming up on January 20th.

Each holiday has its own adventures, items, foods, and drinks. They are a lot of fun.

Well, I am going to go read.

Woohoo! Finally made it!

Well, I finally made it to level 80 in Everquest2. I was the first person in the guild to hit it too. It’s a close call as to who will come in second. It will either be Jenili or Krystae. Neither one has been on at all today. Krystae and I were running around last night. It is a little difficult for me to help her with some of the quests because I don’t want to mess up faction.

Here is what I don’t understand. In every other expansion, I was always the one begging Krystae to help me. She was the one that was able to solo very easily. I always had trouble. My pets could never keep the aggro off of me. Now, Krystae is the one asking me for help. It just seems odd. She is even asking me for help on stupid easy mobs.

I am just so glad that the maddening dash to 80 is over. Now I can relax and enjoy the content. Actually being 80 will help me complete quests that I had issues with before. Now that several heroic zones are grayed out, I should be able to solo them with no problem.

Crazy People

My best friend Krystae is being bombarded by a crazy person with messages on x-fire. That person has he confused with someone else. Krystae Lunalupus has been my real life for almost 20 years. They are saying she is someone named Kristin or something like that. Krysta has never lived in Titusville, South Carolina, California, or anything other then where she is currently living.

This person quernica33 or guernica33 has definitely mistaken her for someone else. In a matter of 2 days, she received 54 messages from that person.

I was born in 1971 and Krysta is younger then me. Whereas the person they believe her to be was born in 1967.

She is actually getting fearful for her life since this person is threatening her. I suggested she call the police but since we don’t know anything about this person, we can’t.

He is quoting information off of her website and her myspace page. He really thinks that she is the other person.

Does anyone have any ideas of what we can do?

Orange Box

Ok, so I still haven’t spent my EBGames gift card that I got from VV yet. It really is burning a hole in my pocket. I hate having gift certificates sitting there. I really want to get the Orange Box. However, the gift card is only for $25 and the Orange Box costs $50. I really shouldn’t spend the money on it though since I am not working at the moment.

However, for some unknown reason, I got a full paycheck on Friday. It should have been less then half since I didn’t have any time coming to me at all. I am glad that it was a full one. It’s just that I don’t know when my next pay check will be. But then again, I am going to be stuck home for this entire time too. It will be nice to have something else to do besides my usual Everquest2. I am trying hard to hit level 80 in EQ2 though. I hope I can make it up there soon.

Happy New years?!?!

So I spent a nice quiet New Year at home. I wasn’t feeling all too well. My brother-in-law went over to a neighbor’s house for a party. My sister went to sleep really early as she normally does. I spent the evening/night playing Everquest 2.

It was really nice. I was able to get my toon leveled up to 78 and I also got a few old quests out of my journal. I hated To Speak As A Dragon. When I originally got the quest, I was on a much older computer and I zoned way too slow. So I gave up after only getting a few of the runes I needed. I just never got around to completing it once I got my new computer. The reason I finally decided to get this one done was because I wanted to get my claymore quest line partially done. Now that I am 78 I was soloing in Sanctum of Scaleborn with no problems at all. It was weird being in there. The times that I was in there before it was all insane. I was lagging really bad because of the old computer and all the people in there. Now I wasn’t lagging at all. Mainly because I was the only one in the zone. So I was able to run through claymore quest line in Sanctum from start to finish in only a few hours. I was doing the side quests in there as well.

Next up is Palace of the Awakened. I am not sure how that is going to be for me to solo. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad. Otherwise I will have to drag Krystae, Brazen, or Unbound in there with me.

The guild got a new Ventrilo server. I haven’t been on it yet since I haven’t been feeling well. I am nervous about going on there though. Its funny that I didn’t have any issues with logging into Ventrilo when I was playing Lord of the Rings. I guess that was because I barely knew the people in my guild there. Whereas I have been in this guild for a few years now and it would just seem really odd hearing them all of a sudden. I guess after talking to people over the internet for a few years, you end up with a preconceived notion of them. Then to hear them or meet them in real life changes all of that.

I remember when I got the chance to meet Fig. He is one of my internet friends that I met when I was beta testing for Sims Online. We became really great friends from that game. We still keep in contact. However, after meeting him, it just wasn’t the same anymore. It actually felt weird.

I guess maybe I am just weird. Anyone else meet anyone from the internet and felt the same as me?

Sleuth part duex

Woohoo! I finally figured out my password for my old character. Its not one I normally use. At least I can get back in and play on Wakela again. I also have the one I just created the other day. Her name is Sankara. So if anyone of you feel so inclined, feel free to message me in game.

Unfortunately, since I had been gone for several months, the agency I was in, Ona Mission, had to boot me out to make way for new people. Agencies can only have so many people in them depending on their level. I just sent a message to one of the officers. Or so I thought. I had noticed that Stooby had sent me a message. I answered him back finally. Well when I did a little snooping around, I found out that he and a few others from Ona are now in a new agency. He is one of the directors. I am not sure how or why this happened. Oh well!

I am sure that I will eventually join another agency.

Ruins of Kunark

Well, I have spent quite of bit of time in Kunark lately. EQ2 is interesting again. At least until I reach 80 and get bored again.

Krystae and I were running around in Kylong Plains today. We did a few quests there. Then we decided to get adventurous. We started running through some of the high end zones just to see what they looked like. We had to be really careful in some spots. We were able to invis through most of it, but there were some mobs that could see through invis.

Yesterday I didn’t play EQ2 at all. Instead, I was playing Vanguard. Krystae kept telling me how much it sucked. So even though I had gotten it, I just never got around to playing it. I think its a pretty decent game. Its not as bad as she says it is. I think that she is used to the class designations of EQ1 & EQ2 so she doesn’t like this game. The Warden in Vanguard is much different then what she is used to.

I am glad that I gave it a try. I can see myself playing it more often then she does. It gives me something to do besides just EQ2. I have the station access so I can play EQ1, EQ2, SWG, Matrix, and Vanguard for one monthly fee. I ditched all my other games that had monthly fees. I figured that I would just keep the station access since its the best value and money is pretty tight right now.
