review - Back To The Bedroom

Wow! That was an incredible book. I typically don’t read standard romance novels. However, I was bored and didn’t feel like reading any of the books that I have sitting there. So I went through my sister Deb’s books to see what she has.

I found that one and it seemed interesting.

Janet Evanovich sets up such believable characters. Then she places them into such incredulous circumstances! I absolutely loved Elsie! She was a pistol-packing, burger slinging gray-haired, crazy lady. She had me laughing every scene she was in. I never knew what she was going to do next.

If you are looking for a book that will have you laughing so hard that it hurts, then I definitely suggest this book.

I actually read it in one day. I can’t wait to get started on the next book I chose, Full House by the same author.

I will tell you if that one was good or not as well.

review - Full Scoop

I had read a book by Janet Evanovich called Hot Stuff ages ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So when I wanted something to read and my sister had given me this book, I decided why not.

Janet Evanovich is an excellent author. No matter what genre you normally read, I highly suggest picking up one of her books.

You may have seen her books around before. I know that I certainly have. I just never bothered reading her books though. I figured that Hot Stuff was sort of a fluke as to being a book that I would enjoy.

However, after reading a second book by her, I have to admit to liking this one as well.

My sister has a ton of her books, I will have to go digging to see what more I can turn up.

Smorty

So as you all know, I have been out of work since the end of December because of my gallbladder. I have been desperately worried about finances.

I just came across a really great site that pays you to review other sites. I love to blog, so why not get paid to blog. Its great being able to make money doing something you love.

Plus if you want, you can advertise on blogs as well. So not only can you get paid for blogging, but you can increase traffic to your blog.

Overall, I think that this is a win-win situation. I will definitely be utilizing their site very often. The requirements are easy to meet. Plus the assignments are vary widely in type.

If you are like me and need to make a little extra cash, then check out Smorty.

Now if you take an assignment, I suggest only take things that you actually feel positive about. The advertisers have the right to contest any post you make. So if it is negative, then 9 out of 10, it will be contested.

Smorty allows you to sign up with several blogs. I really can’t see how this can be of any benefit to the person who owns the blog though. Each post would have to be unique. So you would have to come up with several ways of stating the same thing. That would just be a little too tedious for me. Therefore, I will stick with one blog.

If you want to sign up, go ahead and click on the banner on the side. It’s always great to get referrals from others.

latest find - Ashop Commerce

Ok, so my sister had me set up a website for her to sell soap on ages ago. She makes handmade soap and bath gels. I was never happy with the site that I set up for her.

Well, I just found out about a great shopping cart that is easy to use. The actual shopping cart software is very easy to set up. I will have to pass it by her to see if that one will be ok with her. I don’t think it would matter to her since I would be the one working with it.

Besides, even though she is very computer illiterate, she will be able to use this one. I can’t wait to show her this and hopefully she will let me switch over to this ecommerce software.

Anyway, if you are needing any type of shopping cart, I highly suggest checking this one out.

They can register a domain name if you need it. They provide the webspace for you to set up your store. And if you can’t design your own graphics, they will do it as well. Its all included. It really is a great deal. I can’t believe that I hadn’t found that out before when I was trying to set up my sister’s soap store.

Payday Loans

Christmas is fast approaching. I don’t know about anyone else this year, but it just seems that money is tight. I was thinking about ways to get some money to buy presents from Payday loans.

This site has intrigued me for awhile. I am going to give it a try. Basically it is a loan that gets paid back on your next payday. They loan you anywhere from $100 to $1500. On the day that the money is due to them, you have a few choices.

  • you can pay it back in full
  • renew the loan and pay interest and fees only
  • renew the loan, pay interest and fees, and pay part of the money back
  • do nothing and let it roll over until next pay period

The application process is really simple. I completed it in just a few minutes. The interest is 15%. The money even gets direct deposited into your checking account the next business day.

I am giving it a try. I need the extra cash.

Dear Demon Barber Confessional

visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site

When I first heard months ago that they were remaking Sweeney Todd I was excited. Once I found out that it was being done by Tim Burton, I was in awe. I can’t wait for this movie to be released.

For those of you who don’t know the history of this movie, it was first released in theaters in 1936. Yes, you read that right. However, that was not the first appearance of Sweeney Todd. There were stories written about him in the late 1800s. There are some arguments as to whether or not Sweeney Todd actually existed. In the late 70s and early 80s, Sweeney Todd was released as a musical starring Angela Lansbury.

First off, the movie stars Johnny Depp. Can we say yummy? He is a great actor and really gets into character. I can’t wait to see him as the great Demon Barber himself!

Then we have Mrs. Lovett being portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter. She is a pretty good actress. I just keep picturing her as Bellatrix Lestrange though.

Finally, we have Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin. He is an awesome actor. I know he is going to totally rock that part.

They have even created a MySpace for the movie. If you have MySpace head on over and visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace.

In addition to that, they have a website has a Demon Barber Confessional going on. You can head on over to the site to confess your dastardly deeds or you can go ahead and start confessing right here.

I guess I will start with a dastardly dead that I had done. When I was in 5th grade, all the kids on the block used to hang out together outside. There was a little 4 year old girl who kept trying to hang out with us. I still remember her name, Lisa. We used to get really annoyed. We didn’t want a little kid hanging out with us. We used to taunt her horrendously. One day, she kept following us around. A bunch of us ran over to a lemon tree at a neighbor’s house. We picked lemons and started throwing them at her. Even though I normally have extremely bad aim, I managed to hit her in an eye with a lemon that was split open. I still feel bad to this day about it. I didn’t want to hurt her, I just didn’t want her following us around.

Ok, what do you have to confess to?

I do have to admit that even though this ended up being a PayPerPost, I had still planned on blogging about this movie. I just came upon the opportunity to get paid for it before I had the chance to finish the post.

PayPerPost

payperpost

I had signed up for this ages ago. Since I didn’t get approved within the first day, my airheadedness took over and I forgot to check back. Gmail had eaten my approval email.

So I wandered over to Gellianne’s blog today and noticed that she had signed up and was accepted. Woohoo! I was very happy for her. Then I remembered that I had signed up some time ago. I decided to wander over to see if I had been accepted. I was accepted ages ago.

They have tons of wonderful offers that you can blog about. I was saddened that the one I would have really been great on was already full. Oh well! I will definitely keep checking back to see what wonderful offers they have.

I know that we could all use a little extra money. So why not earn it while doing something that you love. I know I could use it to pay some bills or to buy some more computer games.

One of the things that I like is the fact that they have this whole section that they label “The Lab” (makes it sound like mad scientists)! At the lab, you can find all different types of things that are in development. There are even widgets and plug-ins that users have created.

Also in The Lab is a listing of affiliate sites that they run. They have this interesting affiliate named Blog in Space. This site actually beams your blog feed into space. Definitely strange.

I highly suggest checking PayPerPost out.

Guided by Angels

Last night was a little bizarre. Normally, when I log off the computer, I go downstairs and watch a little TV before going to sleep. I can never go right to sleep because the walk down the stairs always seems to wake me up a little bit.

Anyway, I normally switch back and forth between Nick At Night or the Food Network. These are usually the only channels that have anything worth watching. I have gotten to the point that I don’t even channel surf anymore.

Last night, for some unknown reason, I started channel surfing. As I was flipping through channels, I was taken aback to see someone I knew on TV. Flipping through, I passed by a channel where Michelle Whitedove was on. At first, I thought it was that local show that she used to have. Actually, she might still have it, I don’t really know. Come to find out it was America’s Psychic Challenge. I had never even heard of that show before.

I first met Michelle in 1998 or 1999. My mom, my sister B, and I had signed up at a local high school for a night class in raising your psychic awareness. The class was taught by Michelle. We learned a lot in the class.

Once that class was over, we took her follow up class at the same high school. After that we were invited into her home along with a few other people for private teaching. It was really nice. We were all able to get a lot of one on one time with her.

Since the days where we were taking her classes, she has had a TV show, wrote several books, and toured the country giving lectures.

I am so glad that she won. At one point I was yelling at the TV though. There was a challenge where the psychics had to find a man buried alive. Several times she was standing directly on top of the box. She was hesitant about deciding between two spots. The host asked her why she was hesitant. About the wrong spot, she said that she wasn’t sure why she was wanting to choose it. About the right spot, she said that her spirit guides were telling her that was the right place. I was yelling at the TV. One thing she always stressed to us in the classes was to listen to our guides. Eventually she went with what the guides told her. Once the psychics think they know where he is, they have to put the picture of him down on the ground. The host stated that she put the picture down in the geometric center of the box that he was in. The other psychic picked a spot that was 50 yards away.

CONGRATULATIONS MICHELLE!
