free games the legal way

I came across a website yesterday that had me wondering.  They advertised free game giveaways each weekend.  At first, I was skeptical about this.  I know that there are many sites that will give you games for free, but they are illegal versions of the games.

This site actually gives you legal copies of the games.  Each day on the weekend, there is a different game that is given away for free at the publisher’s request.  This is a great way for publishers to get people to try their products.  So you get to download it for free.  Then you are playing it when your best friend comes over and now they want a copy.  They will then go and buy the game.  Its a win-win situation.  You get free games and the publishers get free advertising.

These same people also have another website where they give away regular software for free as well.  That site has downloads available on various days throughout the week.  So I highly suggest checking it out each day.  You never know what you will find.

Love Overboard - a review

Yesterday I had a long wait at the doctor’s office and was very glad that I had brought along a book to read.

Love Overboard
by Janet Evanovich

Read more about this book…

When I first started reading this book, (I really hate admitting this) I really struggled to keep reading it.  Now don’t get me wrong, I really love Janet Evanovich’s writing.  This was one of her earlier works that was re-released.  It had been originally published as Ivan Takes a Wife back in 1989.

IVAN TAKES A WIFE (Loveswept, No 343)
by Janet Evanovich

Read more about this book…

I did manage to make my way through this book.  After the first few chapters, the story started to pick up quite a bit and the book became tolerable.  It wasn’t until close to the end that the current Evanovich humor really began to shine through.

This was definitely a diamond in the rough.  The actual plot was a wonderful idea.  However, it just wasn’t pulled off with the spectacular Evanovich panache that we have all come to love.

I do recommend reading this so that you can see the humble beginnings of a great writer.

Mod Pinoy - A Review

Ok so the geeky side is coming out again. I have always admired modders. I have never attempted to do any pc modding myself since I am deathly afraid of messing something up. I can build computers, but I stick to what I know. I don’t go off on a tangent and do neat things with them.

I came across this cool website Mod Pinoy that has a whole blog on modding for PC and consoles. In addition to the modding, they also have reviews on software.

I was just reading through their review on the Incredible Hulk game that is coming out. It’s coming out on Steve’s birthday. I may just have to get it for him so I can play it! LOL! I am serious though. The screen shots that they posted from this game are awesome.

I already downloaded Extra MAME like they have posted. I miss most of the old school Arcade games. This definitely brings me back quite a few years.

The DeathTech - A Review

I came across a really interesting site this morning, The Deathtech. It is a rare combination of TV reviews and Technology reviews.

There are a wide range of TV shows that are available. They even provide links to be able to view the shows that you have missed.

As for the Technology side, the reviews are awesome. You will find lengthy reviews on both hardware and software.

There are 2 people who contribute to this blog. Neo seems to be extremely knowledgeable. He contributes to 5 other blogs as well. The other person is Shashwat. He currently only contributes to this blog. He calls himself a Tech Freak.

If you want to catch up on shows that you missed or if you are looking for information on some piece of technology, you might want to check out these guys.

I am sure that if they don’t have a review on their site that you would be interested in seeing, they will more then happily provide one for you.

Hot Sex, errr… I mean Six

I know, I haven’t been around much lately. I have been rushing from one thing to the next.

First off, I have joined another guild. Right now I am still considered a recruit. I have two weeks to prove to them that I am good enough for their guild. Well, I only have one week now since I have been in there for about a week now.

It’s pretty scary starting over. Especially since the last guild was so lax in everything they did. However, I am glad to see that Essayons is still thriving and that they just had a nice influx of new members. They are even doing things together as a guild now. I guess it was a little shake up since quite a few of us left right after each other.

Anyway, this new guild is named Defiant. It is a rather large guild. It is so nice to be able to log in and see other people online. There were times when I would log in while in Essayons and I would be the only one online for hours at a time.

Quite a few of the members of Defiant have been trying to help me get some better gear and better spells. I just sent off a ton of tyn to Null to get some spell upgrades made. That should help out with my DPS considerably.

They have also been helping me on my epic weapon quest. I am almost done with the fabled version. I have one more group instance and then a final fight with Phrotis. The fight is what I am most afraid of. From everything I see, it looks like it is a solo fight and you have to be very careful. He uses these elementals against you and they can buff him and cause heat damage to you. However, you can dominate them if you do it just right. If you do, then they will buff you and do damage to him instead.

Anyway, you are probably wondering what the heck the name of the post has to do with what I just wrote about…. Absolutely nothing! LOL!!

Actually, I am currently reading Hot Six by Janet Evanovich. If you haven’t read any of her books, then I suggest running out to your car and heading to the closest book store! There have been way too many nights in which I stay up late reading because I can’t put these books down.

Plus, they are so hysterical that I am afraid to read them in public. I have laughed until my sides ached and tears were streaming down my face. I have no clue where she comes up with the ideas, but I think she is an absolute genius.

I would love to have a grandma like Grandma Mazur. She is completely off-the-wall and totally awesome.

Oh and I was so mad at the ending of book 5. She completely left us hanging. Thankfully I am reading them now instead of when it was first written. I had to run to the other room to go grab book 6 to find out what happened. If I had to wait months to find out, I would have gone nuts!!

The Other Boleyn Girl

I am extremely exhausted this morning. I had stayed up until 4am last night to finish reading The Other Boleyn Girl.

The Other Boleyn Girl
by Philippa GregoryRead more about this book…

Let me tell you that it was very well written.

The story was about Mary Boleyn and her affair with King Henry. It also detailed the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn into her reign of queen.

I was shocked at all the information that was contained in this book. It is a really great way to learn about history. Yes, it is a historical fiction. The basic facts were all correct. The only reason why it would be considered fiction is due to the fact that there is no way of knowing for sure what people were saying or how they were behaving.

The people were believed to have acted that way. It was believed that they had done what the book said, but it is not 100% proven.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see the movie. I know that the movie stars Natalie Portman. So it should be pretty good.

Casino royale?

My niece loves going down to the Hard Rock Casino. She spends most of her free time there. I just could never get myself to go there since I don’t like large crowds.

I remember gambling a bit when I went out on a day cruise. I really had a lot of fun then. There wasn’t that many people where I felt crowded in. I remember the rush of gambling.

I decided that I wanted to check out some online gambling sites. However, I was at first a little leery since I know some of them send out spam. I needed to find a place that gave information about all of the sites so I could see what was legitimate and what wasn’t.

Any online casino can have a wide variety of games to play. You can play blackjack, slots, poker, roulette, craps, baccarat, keno, bingo, backgammon, and much more. That is a lot of different games to be able to play in the luxury of your own home. I hate having to get dressed up to go out. I would rather lounge around in shorts and a t-shirt. So online casinos allow me this luxury. Plus you don’t have to deal with cigarette smoke or people drinking around you.

I found a great place called Pro360 that can tell you about some of the different online casinos that are out there. It definitely helped to lessen my confusion on which ones to try out. You can find information on what games each one offers, if they offer a signing up bonus (always great to start with some free money!), and even read reviews of each one.

Christian Faith Financial

Now that the holidays are over, I know many people are looking for ways to pay off their credit cards.

You can head on over to Christian Faith Financial to apply for some payday loans. Christian Faith Financial is not a lending facility. What they do is hook you up with a company that can give you a payday loan.

The application process is extremely easy. It only takes a few minutes. You do need to give them your social security number and checking account information in order for them to process you.

The loan can be for any amount of money between $200 and $1500. You must be at least 18 years old in order to apply.

review - AllBatt

As you know, I love to share wonderful finds with you. I was able to lift my nose up from a book for a few minutes to go searching on the web.

I have been having some problems since my cell phone battery doesn’t seem to be holding a charge like it used to. So I needed to find a new one.

Since I hate going to actual stores, I tend to do all my shopping online. Anyway, after searching through a ton of sites, I found a really great site to buy all different types of batteries!!

I am going to be ordering a new cell phone battery from them. Plus my brother-in-law is needing some new laptop batteries so I am going to be sending the link to him to check it out.

I can’t believe that there is actually a place that sells all different types of batteries like this. I am so used to having to go to one site to buy cell phone batteries, another site to buy laptop batteries, and yet another site to buy digital camera batteries. Now I can do it all from one convenient location.

I am also going to tell the IT guy at work about this. Whenever the battery in the UPS battery back-ups start to go, instead of buying a replacement battery, he just buys a whole knew unit. I didn’t even know that they made replacement batteries for those until I found this site.

Plus on their website they have a guide on how to keep your rechargeable batteries lasting longer.

I never knew that the first time you charge a battery, it doesn’t always charge fully up even though the charger says its complete. The site suggests that the first time you charge it, after it says complete to take it out and put it back in. This will allow it to charge fully.

See the neat things that you can learn from checking out different sites?

Almost posted this without even really letting you know where to find the site. Silly me! I snagged one of their logos to set up a link.

review - Full House

Here is another great offering by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes. I couldn’t put this book down. I read it in one day again. That is two book in a row by Janet Evanovich that I read in a day. In fact, I actually did read this book in one sitting. I just couldn’t bear to put it down.

Full House (Janet Evanovich’s Full Series)
by Janet Evanovich, Steffie Hall, Charlotte HughesRead more about this book…

This is part of a series of books, but from what my sister Bren told me, they do not have to be read in any specific order.

It’s hard to say who my favorite character from this book is. Possibly DeeDee. She was a riot. She is completely clueless on how the real world operates. Oh, then there is Max who is a teenage genius who likes to go around blowing up things.

Let’s just say, I am so glad that I don’t have their lives. Everything is so chaotic and insane, that it would probably push me over the edge. However, I wouldn’t mind meeting a guy like hunky Nick.
