can’t take them anywhere

So my sister and her husband finally took me out to dinner for my birthday.  I got to choose the restaurant.

We went to this really cool place called Ra Sushi.   I should have known it was going to be a disaster.

First my sister complained about it being too loud in there.  They had some really awesome music playing.  I was enjoying it immensely.

Then her husband started in on the waitress about how my sister is allergic to shellfish and she had better tell my sister if there was anything that she was ordering that had it in it.

We got to the restaurant around 7pm.  Shortly after we got there, they lowered the lighting.  So then my sister started bitching about how she couldn’t see.  And how did they expect anyone to see anything with the lighting so dim.  Personally, it wasn’t that bad.

She ordered her steak medium well.  It came back a little pink.  She threw a complete fit.  I keep telling her she needs to stop ordering steak when we go out since it never comes back the way she likes it.  Either that or she needs to stop saying medium or medium well.  She just needs to tell them that she likes it well done.  That is truly the way she likes it anyway.  Bleh.. It doesn’t have any flavor that way.

My sister insisted on talking to the manager.  Geez… Just get over it.  Its not like she has ever been in a restaurant and gotten the steak cooked the way she likes it.  She always complains.

I really felt bad for our waitress.  She was really nice.  The first thing I noticed about her was the really pretty pent necklace she had on.  I wanted to say something to her, but I knew that they would embarrass me.  So even though I really wanted to say Blessed Be or Merry Meet to her, I didn’t.

  4. Hi, that seems like a nice place. I’ve never heard of it. Too bad it was too loud for your sister. I could only imagine to good music they were jamming out in that place.

Don’t you hate when people make a big deal and embarrass you!

It was a really great restaurant. Apparently its a national chain here. This one just opened up in my area.

I always dread going out with her.

  5. How was your food? Is there any restaurant that your sister likes? Maybe you could go there next time.

My wife and I went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch the other day. We don’t go out very often. I had quiche and she had a chicken pot pie. It cost us $29 with tip and it was barely edible. I would have been better off with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

    I found you through EntreCard

    Welcome!

I love Ruby Tuesday. I haven’t been there in years though. Ours is inside the mall and I hate going there since it is always so crowded.

  6. I’m sorry to hear your birthday dinner didn’t go well. Families can be so infuriating sometimes.

On a positive note, i’m definitely going to try out Ra Sushi. Looks great!
