WTF?!?! What is The World Coming To?
Ok, having worked in the medical field since 1988, I really thought that I had seen everything. And believe me, there is a lot that I have seen.
However, my view of humanity sunk to an all time low today. I mean really. What in the world do people think sometimes??
Today we had a woman in her early 40s come into the office. This is quite normal. However, she had a slight accident (and that is putting it mildly) on her way to the office. Now I am not referring to an automobile accident. What I am referring to is that she completely shit herself!! And this wasn’t just a tiny bit. It looked like she rolled around in it. It was covering her from head to toe.
Now I don’t know about you, but if I had a bad case of diarrhea, I wouldn’t leave the house. Let alone attempt to keep an appointment. It’s not like I work in a doctor’s office and we could give her something to take to get it under control. She was there to have diagnostic testing done that was in now way related to her diarrhea.
She had multiple tests done. When we discovered that she was completely covered, we gave her scrub pants and two gowns to change into. We also gave her something to clean up with. Each tech that she went to see, attempted to help her clean up a little bit more.
The entire office stank. It was really disgusting.
When she was getting ready to leave she asked if we had a scrub top she could have since it would be embarrassing to go to her next appointment dressed like that. We said that we didn’t. She chose to wear her shirt that was covered in shit instead of wearing the gowns.
I mean really??? WTH!! At the first sign of diarrhea, I would have turned around and locked myself in the bathroom at home. I certainly wouldn’t have ventured out like that. And then to leave our office to go somewhere else? I mean really. It’s not that difficult to reschedule your appointments. I would have been more embarrassed about being seen wearing clothes that I just shit on instead of wearing gowns.

OMG that story is hilarious. That is why the health industry pays higher than most, cause people have to put up with so much S*** (and in this case literally).
