I came across a website yesterday that had me wondering. They advertised free game giveaways each weekend. At first, I was skeptical about this. I know that there are many sites that will give you games for free, but they are illegal versions of the games.
This site actually gives you legal copies of the games. Each day on the weekend, there is a different game that is given away for free at the publisher’s request. This is a great way for publishers to get people to try their products. So you get to download it for free. Then you are playing it when your best friend comes over and now they want a copy. They will then go and buy the game. Its a win-win situation. You get free games and the publishers get free advertising.

These same people also have another website where they give away regular software for free as well. That site has downloads available on various days throughout the week. So I highly suggest checking it out each day. You never know what you will find.

Yesterday I had a long wait at the doctor’s office and was very glad that I had brought along a book to read.
When I first started reading this book, (I really hate admitting this) I really struggled to keep reading it. Now don’t get me wrong, I really love Janet Evanovich’s writing. This was one of her earlier works that was re-released. It had been originally published as Ivan Takes a Wife back in 1989.
I did manage to make my way through this book. After the first few chapters, the story started to pick up quite a bit and the book became tolerable. It wasn’t until close to the end that the current Evanovich humor really began to shine through.
This was definitely a diamond in the rough. The actual plot was a wonderful idea. However, it just wasn’t pulled off with the spectacular Evanovich panache that we have all come to love.
I do recommend reading this so that you can see the humble beginnings of a great writer.
Ok so the geeky side is coming out again. I have always admired modders. I have never attempted to do any pc modding myself since I am deathly afraid of messing something up. I can build computers, but I stick to what I know. I don’t go off on a tangent and do neat things with them.
I came across this cool website Mod Pinoy that has a whole blog on modding for PC and consoles. In addition to the modding, they also have reviews on software.
I was just reading through their review on the Incredible Hulk game that is coming out. It’s coming out on Steve’s birthday. I may just have to get it for him so I can play it! LOL! I am serious though. The screen shots that they posted from this game are awesome.
I already downloaded Extra MAME like they have posted. I miss most of the old school Arcade games. This definitely brings me back quite a few years.
I came across a really interesting site this morning, The Deathtech. It is a rare combination of TV reviews and Technology reviews.
There are a wide range of TV shows that are available. They even provide links to be able to view the shows that you have missed.
As for the Technology side, the reviews are awesome. You will find lengthy reviews on both hardware and software.
There are 2 people who contribute to this blog. Neo seems to be extremely knowledgeable. He contributes to 5 other blogs as well. The other person is Shashwat. He currently only contributes to this blog. He calls himself a Tech Freak.
If you want to catch up on shows that you missed or if you are looking for information on some piece of technology, you might want to check out these guys.
I am sure that if they don’t have a review on their site that you would be interested in seeing, they will more then happily provide one for you.
As you can tell by a lot of my more recent posts, I have fallen by the wayside with blogging.
That unfortunately isn’t the only thing. I have completely fallen by the wayside in all things spiritual as well.
I have decided that I need to reconnect with the goddess within. I need to break out my tarot decks and start doing readings again. I need to start lighting my nightly candles and doing blessings. I need to rebuild my altar and pray.
When I was still living with my mom, I had my altar set up at all times. I would meditate in front of it on a regular basis. I was doing some work on myself to help get through tough times.
After my mom passed away, I went into a very dark time. Then I was forced to move out of our house and felt empty and cold. Even though I am living with my sister, I no longer have that safe haven. My parents had bought that house over 10 years before I was born. I lived there until my marriage. I moved back during my divorce. My energy was everywhere in that house. It felt safe.
I have only been in this house about a year. The majority of the energy here is chaotic since my brother-in-law and my sister fight constantly. I feel like I am constantly being buffeted about on a current of foreign energy.
Its time that I start setting up my space. I need to get the energy in my room cleared. I need to take that place over as mine. I may not be able to calm the rest of the house down as I was able to do with my mom’s house, but I can at least make a safe haven for me.
My mom was really great with me being a pagan. In fact, even though my mom was a Christian, she tended to have many new age/pagan beliefs. She was a master practitioner in Reiki. She believed in speaking with the dead. In fact, she used to own a Ouija board when I was much younger. I think her beliefs are what truly inspired me to look beyond conventional religion and find my own place in the world.

I have sort of been in a funk lately. I haven’t been posting as much as I would like.
The reason for this is because I had a follow up visit with my doctor. He wants to put me on an ACE inhibitor for my heart. However, the radiologist that I work for said that I should have my kidneys checked out by a nephrologist first. He thinks that the ACE inhibitor could cause some damage if my kidneys are already messed up. And yes, there is reason to believe that my kidneys are messed up…
My fun with Nutrisystem is put on hold at the moment until my health gets better. I wish I could still do it, but the doctor wants me to worry about everything else first. He said that the way my thyroid is right now, I would only get frustrated anyway. There is no way to lose weight with how far off my numbers are at the moment.
Anyway, on a more positive note, I have been voraciously reading through the Stephanie Plum series. 
I just finished Plum Lovin’ yesterday. Now I need to get my hands on Lean Mean Thirteen. That is still in Hardback though. I hate buying hardback since they are so expensive and I read them so quickly. I will probably use one of my credits over at BOMC2.com. That used to be Zooba. It is a neat place if you have a few extra dollars a month. Basically you pay $9.95 a month and they ship you a hardcover book that is on your list. Its sort of like Netflix, except you don’t have to return the book. And if you are in a real hurry to get the book, you can choose the purchase now option. I like it since I can pretty much find most of the books that I would like to read there. Plus it isn’t expensive at all. I just checked and Lean Mean Thirteen just shipped on Friday. So hopefully it will get here soon and I can start reading it!!
At the moment, my SOE account is suspended. I didn’t have the money this paycheck to renew it. 
In the mean time, I am keeping myself busy with City of Heroes. I might even check out Guild Wars to see what is going on over there.
